Interior Book Formatting Options

Palmetto Interior
Palmetto Interior is our entry-level package, built for books with simple, conventional layouts. It suits text-heavy manuscripts with consistent design needs — memoirs and much of fiction tend to fall into this bucket.
This tier includes a table of contents but not an index, and it's capped at a single image with no complex formatting elements.
Custom Interior
Our custom interior formatting package is the one most authors reach for. Custom Interiors suit almost any genre, though it's especially popular for poetry, children's books, and historical nonfiction.
The name “Custom Interior” reflects the extra creative freedom you get to tell your story your way — with dynamic imagery and layouts rather than plain text alone. You'll also get 2 rounds of revisions built in, so the finished book looks exactly right.

Complex Interior
Complex Interior formatting suits any book that needs an index, or books with up to 100 images, text boxes, or similar special elements — think history books, biographies, reference titles, and more. Handling captions and cross-references alongside photos takes real skill, which is where our seasoned designers come in.
Complex Interior includes:
- 1 interior layout
- Up to 100 images or other special formatting instances (text boxes, tables, lists, etc.) 5 may be premium stock images
- Index, text boxes, table formatting
- 3 rounds of up to 50 text changes
- Indexing services available for an additional cost
Complex Plus
Complex Plus takes Complex Interior formatting even further, built for books with up to 200 images or similarly heavy formatting needs, such as textbooks, cookbooks, and photography books. Your project manager will walk you through a mock-up consultation before formatting begins, so the finished book matches your vision exactly.

E-book Conversion
E-book Conversion is an add-on available alongside any of our other four formatting services. It turns your book's text and images into a digital format readable on screens and e-readers, widening your book's reach online. Free online converters might seem tempting, but they're a poor stand-in for true EPUB conversion and can compromise the quality of your work.
Our e-book conversion works across major devices and platforms such as Kindle, Nook, and iBook, using EPUB files for both Flowable and Fixed Layout formats.
